June 1, 2007
Once a dream to broaden Chattanooga's riverfront, the Riverbend Festival is celebrating its 27th year. Riverbend, a week-long entertainment festival, has grown to become Chattanooga's most beloved event, ranking in the top 10% of festivals in the country. With nightly crowds averaging 80,000-100,000 people, Riverbend recently won two national awards from the International Festivals and Events Association.
Each June, over 700,000 people line the streets to hear #1 Billboard Recording artists and Music Award winners in the areas of Rock, Country, Christian Contemporary, and Pop music. As part of the 21st Century Waterfront Development Plan, Riverbend continues to thrill attendees and lead the way in both tourism and revenues for Chattanooga, TN.
